At ReThreadValue.com, we are committed to providing our members and vintage community with an easy to use and convenient service.  As providing this service involves the collection of some personal information about our members, protecting their personal information is one of our highest priorities.

We will inform you of why and how we collect, use and disclose your personal information, obtain their consent where required, and only handle their personal information in a manner that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances.

This User Agreement and Personal Information Protection Policy, outlines the principles and practices we will follow in protecting personal information.  Our privacy commitment includes ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of personal information.

Scope of this Policy

This Personal Information Protection Policy applies to ReThreadValue.com and connected apps and domains, including third party app stores.

This policy also applies to any service providers collecting, using or disclosing personal information on behalf of ReThreadValue.

Definitions

Personal Information – means information about an identifiable Personal information does not include contact information (described below).

Contact information – means information that would enable an individual to be contacted at a place of business and includes name, position name or title, business telephone number, business address, business email or business fax number.  Contact information is not covered by this policy.
 

Privacy Officer – means the individual designated responsibility for ensuring that ReThreadValue complies with this policy and PIPA.

Member - means someone who has used the ReThreadValue App either online or through an App store.

Policy 1 – Collecting Personal Information

1.1  Unless the purposes for collecting personal information are obvious and the respondent voluntarily provides his or her personal information for those purposes, we will communicate the purposes for which personal information is being collected, either orally or in writing, before or at the time of collection.

1.2  We will only collect information that is necessary to fulfill the following purposes:

  • To identify members and protect their security
  • To ensure a high standard of service to our clients
  • To meet regulatory requirements;

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. 

Policy 2 – Consent

2.1  We will obtain an individuals consent to collect, use or disclose personal information (except where, as noted below, we are authorized to do so without consent).

2.2  Consent can be provided or it can be implied where the purpose for collecting using or disclosing the personal information would be considered obvious and the individuals voluntarily provides personal information for that purpose.

2.3  Consent may also be implied where an individual is given notice and a reasonable opportunity to opt-out by not participating in the survey.

2.4  Subject to certain exceptions (e.g., the personal information is necessary to provide the service or product, or the withdrawal of consent would frustrate the performance of a legal obligation), individuals can withhold or withdraw their consent for Mainstreet Research to use their personal information in certain ways.

2.5  We only collect personal information when you register on the app. The information is anonymized, aggregated and reported on the whole. No individual response information is ever maintained, shared or reported.

Policy 3 – Using and Disclosing Personal Information

3.1  We will only use or disclose an individuals personal information where necessary to fulfill a regulatory request. 

3.2  We will not use or disclose an individuals personal information for any additional purpose.

3.3  We will not sell an individual’s personal information to other parties

Policy 4 – Retaining Personal Information

4.1  We retain an individual’s personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill legal requirements mandated by law.

Policy 5 – Securing Personal Information

5.1  We are committed to ensuring the security of an individual’s personal information in order to protect it from unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification or disposal or similar risks.

5.2  The following security measures will be followed to ensure that an individual’s personal information is appropriately protected:

  • All member data is encrypted and housed in a secure server for as long as required by law.
  • Only anonymized and aggregated data is used for reporting purposes.
  • No staff or contractors have access the encrypted data. Only the Privacy Officer have access and would only ever access the data at the request of a regulatory body.
  • The only personal information we collect is for members using our app.

5.3  We will use appropriate security measures when destroying personal information. The server automatically deletes archive records depending on the time required by law. No paper records are ever created, all information is digital. Our server over -writes archived files to ensure permanent destruction of archives.

5.4  We will continually review and update our security policies and controls as technology changes to ensure ongoing personal information security.

Policy 6 – Providing Individuals Access to Personal Information

6.1  Individuals who have joined the community can request the follwing.

  • Any data collected by ReThreadValue.com
  • Data collected for aggregate purposes is not considered personal information in most jurisdictions. 

6.2  A request to access personal information must be made in writing and provide sufficient detail to identify the personal information being sought. The request must contain the following information.

  • Phone Number, Email
  • Exact time, date and method of App use (website, app store, other)
  • Requests in writing can be sent to support@rethreadvalue.com

6.3  We will make the requested information available within 30 business days, or provide written notice of an extension where additional time is required to fulfill the request.

6.4  A minimal fee may be charged for providing access to personal information.  Where a fee may apply, we will inform the individual of the cost and request further direction from the individual on whether or not we should proceed with the request.

6.5  If a request is refused in full or in part, we will notify the individual in writing, providing the reasons for refusal and the recourse available to the individual.

Policy 7 – Questions and Complaints:  The Role of the Privacy Officer or designated individual

7.1  The Privacy Officer is responsible for ensuring ReThreadValue compliance with this policy and the Personal Information Protection Act.

7.2  Individuals should direct any complaints, concerns or questions regarding ReThreadValue compliance in writing to the Privacy Officer. If the Privacy Officer is unable to resolve the concern, the  individuals may also write to the Information and Privacy Commissioner. To contact our privacy officer please use our contact form and indicate your concern is privacy related.

These terms and conditions (the "Terms and Conditions") govern the use of www.rethreadvalue.com (the "Site"). This Site is owned and operated by ReThreadValue.com. This Site is an ecommerce website.

By using this Site, you indicate that you have read and understand these Terms and Conditions and agree to abide by them at all times.

Intellectual Property
All content published and made available on our Site is the property of ReThreadValue.com and the Site's creators. This includes, but is not limited to images, text, logos, documents, downloadable files and anything that contributes to the composition of our Site.

Age Restrictions
The minimum age to use our Site is 18 years old. By using this Site, users agree that they are over 18 years old. We do not assume any legal responsibility for false statements about age.

These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of goods available on our Site.

These Terms and Conditions apply to all the goods that are displayed on our Site at the time you access it. This includes all products listed as being out of stock. All information, descriptions, or images that we provide about our goods are as accurate as possible. However, we are not legally bound by such information, descriptions, or images as we cannot guarantee the accuracy of all goods we provide. You agree to purchase goods from our Site at your own risk.

We reserve the right to modify, reject or cancel your order whenever it becomes necessary. If we cancel your order and have already processed your payment, we will give you a refund equal to the amount you paid. You agree that it is your responsibility to monitor your payment instrument to verify receipt of any refund.

User Goods and Services
Our Site allows users to sell goods and services. We do not assume any responsibility for the goods and services users sell on our Site. We cannot guarantee the quality or accuracy of any goods and services sold by users on our Site. However, if we are made aware that a user is violating these Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to suspend or prohibit the user from selling goods and services on our Site.

Subscriptions
Your subscription automatically renews and you will be automatically billed until we receive notification that you want to cancel the subscription.

To cancel your subscription, please follow these steps: 30 days.

Free Trial
We offer the following free trial of our goods: Promo codes are used for discounts.

At the end of your free trial, the following will occur: Promo codes expire after 1 year.

To cancel your free trial, please follow these steps: Delete account, or write to support@rethreadvalue.com.

Payments
We accept the following payment methods on our Site:

  • Credit Card; and
     
  • Stripe.
     

When you provide us with your payment information, you authorize our use of and access to the payment instrument you have chosen to use. By providing us with your payment information, you authorize us to charge the amount due to this payment instrument.

If we believe your payment has violated any law or these Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to cancel or reverse your transaction.

Shipping and Delivery
When you purchase goods from our Site, the goods will be delivered through one of the following methods:

  • Delivery fees, tariffs and other charges for physical items are set by the user.
     

Delivery will take place as soon as reasonably possible, depending on the delivery method selected. Delivery times may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Please note that delivery times do not include weekends and statutory holidays.

You will be required to pay delivery charges in addition to the price for the goods you purchase.

If you purchase goods from us for delivery to a destination outside Canada your purchase may be subject to import duties and taxes applied by the destination country. You are responsible for paying any such duties or taxes. Please contact your local customs office for more information before making a purchase. We are not responsible for the payment of any such duties or taxes and are not liable for any failure by you to pay them.

You are required to provide us with a complete and accurate delivery address, including the name of the recipient. We are not liable for the delivery of your goods to the wrong address or wrong person as a result of you providing us with inaccurate or incomplete information.

Consumer Protection Law
Where the Consumer Protection Act, or any other consumer protection legislation in your jurisdiction applies and cannot be excluded, these Terms and Conditions will not limit your legal rights and remedies under that legislation. These Terms and Conditions will be read subject to the mandatory provisions of that legislation. If there is a conflict between these Terms and Conditions and that legislation, the mandatory provisions of the legislation will apply.

Limitation of Liability
ReThreadValue.com and our directors, officers, agents, employees, subsidiaries, and affiliates will not be liable for any actions, claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses including legal fees from your use of the Site.

Indemnity
Except where prohibited by law, by using this Site you indemnify and hold harmless ReThreadValue.com and our directors, officers, agents, employees, subsidiaries, and affiliates from any actions, claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses including legal fees arising out of your use of our Site or your violation of these Terms and Conditions.

Applicable Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario.

Additional Terms

  • ReThreadValue does not guarantee the value estimates provided by the App or the condition of items once shipped. Returns are to be negotiated by the buyer and seller of an item..
     

Severability
If at any time any of the provisions set forth in these Terms and Conditions are found to be inconsistent or invalid under applicable laws, those provisions will be deemed void and will be removed from these Terms and Conditions. All other provisions will not be affected by the removal and the rest of these Terms and Conditions will still be considered valid.

Changes
These Terms and Conditions may be amended from time to time in order to maintain compliance with the law and to reflect any changes to the way we operate our Site and the way we expect users to behave on our Site. We will notify users by email of changes to these Terms and Conditions or post a notice on our Site.
